About

GLAS Learning, an education focused division of GLAS, is situated at the Kings River Centre (see below), located in a tranquil woodland setting, on the banks of Kings River, Ennisnag Co.Kilkenny.  Since its inception in 2002 GLAS has been providing education through its renewable energy division. We believe a key component in the necessary shift from fossil fuels is the provision of information and training around the technologies available today.

Given the present economic climate, the rise in fuel costs and the number of unemployed skilled and semi skilled workers in Ireland, we believe there is a vital necessity to empower people with the knowledge and skills to meet the challenges of both today and  the future.

To this end GLAS Learning offers a suite of training courses in renewable energy, green building and energy efficient building design and upgrade.

Our Aim;  To Promote resilience and self reliance through the professional delivery of appropriate educational material.

We perceive that our recent relocation to The Kings River Centre coincides with our desire to promote the principles of people-centred, lifelong learning.

We pride ourselves at being “student focused , rather than just profit led” and have designed the courses to be accessible to both those returning back to education and to those seeking to enhance existing skills in the sector.

We belive strongly in networking and partnerships. We succesfully provided services for the recent ‘Green Works’ programme acting as a Kilkenny hub. We presently offer FETAC courses in association with NICER training and are partners with both NICER and Cultivate in delivering an ‘up skilling’ programme for Carllow Kilkenny Energy Agency, funded by Kilkenny Leader Partnership.
