Gary Dalton BSc, Post Grad Dip AEES


Gary Dalton formed Ecoworks in 2006, providing Energy Management and Sustainable Education and Training services.

He has worked in Co-Operative and Self Build housing initiatives in the U.K. This developed his interest in green building as a low cost, community response to housing need. Prior to 2006, he worked as a production/ project manager in the health care industry coupling people and technical skills to implement change.

In 2007, he pursued his lifelong interest in energy and environmental issues, completing a Post Grad Diploma in Advance Energy and Environmental studies through the Centre For Alternative Technology, Wales, graduating in 2010. He has developed and continues to deliver customised educational programmes in sustainability through local field trips, courses and workshops. He has been particularly active in community resilience initiatives such as the “non-traditional skills for women programme” which designed and built an outdoor natural build classroom in Ballybeg community garden, Waterford as well as structures at Carrig Dulra permaculture centre, Co. Wicklow, Ormonde community college, Kilkenny (Clay oven, rammed earth and Straw bale) and Phillip Baron Gael Scoil Tramore(community DIY polytunnel).

He has developed and tutored programmes for Greenworks and Glas Learning, delivering Fetac level 4 and 5 modules in Every day Science , Green building and Renewable Energy Systems in Dublin, Cork, Waterford, Tipperary, Kerry and Donegal. He is currently an environmental tutor with Waterford V.E.C.
