Purpose/Overall Learning

At Glas Learning we place an emphasis on learning by doing and although the module has been developed to provide the learner with an overview of renewable energy technologies, we offer plenty of real life experiences and technology demonstration in our workshop area. The course covers topics such as the non-technical issues, energy and services requirements, solar radiation, site suitability, micro-hydro systems, biomass, solar thermal systems, building design features, photovoltaic’s, domestic wind turbines and battery storage. We also incorporate a field trip which allows students to see working projects in the locality and talk to the owners of installed systems
